The Arctic Fox is one of the hardest animals I know and can withstand frost up to -50 \u00b0 C (-58 \u00b0 F). The fox<\/a> has a white coat which is very suitable for him in the great cold and as a winter Camouflage coat. The brown or grey coat the fox gets over the summertime hides him well in Iceland\u2019s woodless and barren landscape. The fox makes its home underground and lives on what nature offers every time, birds, eggs and even fish. The fox is one of my favourite, beautiful animal, an image of strength, endurance and resourcefulness.\nHowever, the fox is considered a predator in the wild and is hunted wherever and whenever it comes outside of the nature reserve in Hornstrandir.<\/p>\n

About the artist<\/a><\/strong>
\nOlafsson was born in Reykjavik in January 1961. Only one year old he moved to the east coast to F\u00e1skr\u00fa\u00f0sfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur with his parents and 5 siblings.\nThere he grew up amid a powerful nature embraced by mountains, deep valleys and abundant wildlife.\nOlafsson studied at the Icelandic School of Art and Crafts in Reykjavik from 1977 to 1981. Now the school is called the Iceland Academy of the Arts. <\/p>\n

From there he graduated from the Department of Painting.\nOlafsson has held several exhibitions both at home and abroad. These include the Kjarvalsstadir 1981 exhibition. The solo exhibition in the Deep, the Horni\u00f0, 1982, in F\u00e1skr\u00fa\u00f0sfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, 1984, 2007 and 2015. The Exhibition in the Sl\u00e1turhus in Egilstadir, 2007.
